What Are The Uses And Side Effects Of Laxative Tablets?

I have taken senna laxative tablets for 3 days and haven t had a bowel movement for 5 days. I have mild cramping from the senna tablets but no real progress in voiding. I am extremely miserable and not sure what to do next. I must have some relief soon before I explode. I am beginning to feel sick and I am extremely bloated. Please help!

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. As you are not having a bowel movement after laxatives. You should go to ER or consult your GP .In such case i advise bisacodyl suppositories and if that is not working then i advise enema. If that is also not helping then it can be due to fecolith which should be manually removed. Excess laxative usually can cause diarrhoea, vomiting, mucosal damage of large intestine, bloating and intestinal obstruction as side effects in some cases. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
Thanks
