What Are The Uses And Side Effects Of Telma XX 25mg?
my wife is 59 years old and having high blood pressure and is on medication. Dr. has earlier advised her to take Telma AM which was giving swelling on legs. After 3 weeks Dr. changed Telma XX 25mg now. I wish to know whether the Telma XX 25mg is right medicine for contolling high BP.

The drug you refer is right medicine for contolling high BP.Decreased heart rate and dizziness are some of the possible side effects.It is also required periodic measurements of potassium in blood because the drug can cause elevation of potassium levels.

Telma AM is a combination of Telmisarten and Amilodepine whereas Telma XX is only Telmisarten.
Amlodepine can produce a swelling of the legs and that is probably the reason why the doctor changed her medication.
Since the blood pressuring lowering effect of Telma XX would be less than Telma AM, you should check her blood pressure often to ensure that it is in the normal range. If the blood pressure goes up, her doctor can either increase the dose of Telma or can add a second medication which does not producew swelling of the legs.
