What Are The Symptoms Of Heart Burn?

For the last month I have been having pains in the stomach area. If it is heartburn what would the symptoms be. Also my friend once had h. pylori and I was wondering what the symptoms are. I have been taking Pepcid and it seems to help sometimes but it is not going away but is happening more often.

Hello,

You are suffering from heartburn and pain in the stomach area it gets relieved after you take Pepcid but it is happening quite frequently. You are suggested to avoid taking food and water that is not clean, avoid taking spicy, oily, junk food. Take hygienically prepared home made food.

Don’t eat anything that isn’t cooked thoroughly. It will be wise to take boiled food for a couple of days. If you have an ulcer, you may feel a dull or burning pain in your belly. You will feel better after you take Pepcid but the pain can again come. The symptoms of ulcer or H. Pylori infection are bloating, nausea, vomiting, belly pain, swelling, loss of appetite, weight loss for no reason and tiredness.

You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP , get blood and stool tests done, get upper GI endoscopy, upper GI tests, CT scan (if required), urea breath tests, done at the earliest so that treatment can be started. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
