Thanks for putting up your query on HealthCareMagic. Your concerns about your son are not unique. There are two parts to this problem. Firstly adolescents often cannot deal smoothly with the transition that might be going on within their body. Their mind is not adequately mature to deal with the external impression that they are almost adult. Many adolescents are short tempered and have a feeling of loneliness. The border between normal and abnormal is subtle and some expert in adolescent medicine should be able to rightly guide you. Secondly, you say that 'he always recollecting his past'. Does he have any traumatic experience in the past? Or is it the memories of good things that no longer exist? Your information is not adequate in this regard and a psychiatric referral might only be felt required if the expert in adolescent medicine asks you for one.

ADHD stands for Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and has two components - attention deficit and/or hyperactivity. Symptoms include difficulty staying focused and paying attention, difficulty controlling behavior, and hyperactivity (over-activity). The details that you have given are not indicative of ADHD. Let me point out that not all doctors have adequate knowledge on the matter and there is a tendency of stamping many things as ADHD when they are actually not. In case the diagnosis has already been confirmed, let me point out that currently available treatments aim at reducing the symptoms of ADHD and improving functioning. Treatments include medication, various types of psychotherapy, education and training, or a combination of treatments. There is currently no cure for the disorder. With treatment, most people with ADHD can be successful in school and lead productive lives. Once again I would suggest you to consult your doctor about this.
