Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I think I have endometriosis. It runs in my family and I have several symptoms. Is there any way to be tested without having the gyno go inside my vagina? I m a virgin and extremely tight, some tampons are even too big and hurt. I don t want to be examined, but I want to be able to seek treatment.
Hello dear Understand your concern Following are symptoms of endometriosis: Painful, heavy, or irregular periods, Pain and spotting during or after sex, Infertility, painful bowel movements and fatigue.
I would suggest to consult the gynecologist and get examined. Investigations: USG scan, laparoscopy and histopathology.
Following are treatments of endometriosis: 1. Hormonal therapy: - Progestrone, Oral contraceptive pills. Danazole, GnRH agonist - NSAIDS for pain relief 2. Surgery: if associated with sever pain and infertility - Excision of endometrium and adhesion with preservation of uterus and ovary. Hope this may help you.
