What Are The Side Effects Of Birth Control Pills?

Hi! I m 18 years old and my mom wants me to go on birth control. I do have a boyfriend and we are pretty serious and definitely are not ready for children. I m still a virgin but with how things have been between my boyfriend and I I m not sure how long I m going to remain this way. The thing I m worried about is what happens when you go to a doctor and ask for birth control and what kind of side effects I could experience once on it. Also I get really nervous whenever I have to go to the doctor and I have a phobia of needles so I m leaning towards the pill. What kind of exams and tests will they have to do? Will it matter if I have sex before I go to the doctor for it? How can I calm my fears?

Hi,

You can get the pills from the medical shop as over the counter. There is no need to do any tests before starting birth control pills and the instruction is clearly written on the packet itself.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
