What Are The Side Effects Of Silverex Ionic Gel On Face?

Dear Doctor Hi I would request you to let me know the side effects of application of Silverex Ionic Gel on to the skin of (face) of a 1year 8 months boy. My son (1 y 8m) pored hot milk on to his face unknowingly, resulted burns on his face. Our doctor prescribed silverex, but we heard from our close contacts that it has side effects. I would like to know whether Silverex can be applied on to the burns for healing or not on account of side effects. Thanks & Regards RAJU MN 99595 14499

Hi,

Itching, skin rash or staining of the skin can occur with the use of the gel. But the drug may be necessary to reduce the intensity of burns. After which other antibiotic and antiseptic creams can be used.

Silver nitrate prevents infection,forms a protective layer over the burns, reduces burning sensation and soothes the skin. Hence, benefits of using the drug is high compared to the side effects.
