What Are The Side Effects Of Metoprolol?

I have been diagnosed with HCM and put on Metoporol ER I am up to 75 and will go on 100 mg Friday, Every two weeks I will increase 25mg until I get to 250mg. I feel dizzy especially upon standing and walking. My pulse rises then. Should I be aware of any side effects, adverse reactions or should I continue despite feeling dizzy. Is caffeine ok. Are there any foods or supplements that can help with HCM

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Some of the side effects of Metoprolol can be chest pain or discomfort, confusion, dizziness, faintness. These side effects usually go away after some time as the body is adapted with the medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
