Hi,

Althea pill contains both cryproterone acetate and ethinyl estradiol which is used for contraception in women, control of acnes and hirsutism, regulation of the menstrual cycle, reduction of premenstrual tension and relief from pain and excessive bleeding during menstruation. Side effects of Althea pill are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, bloating, headache, sweating, irregular uterine bleeding, spotting or breakthrough bleeding between periods, breast tenderness and enlargement, mood swings, depression, changes in sleep pattern, fatigue, tiredness, weakness, changes in the appetite, delayed wound healing, easily bruising or bleeding, vaginal discharge, changes in body weight, vaginal bleeding, allergic reactions, changes in sexual desire etc. If you want to start a new hormonal contraceptive pill instead of your present one, then you should consult your doctor first. Don't start taking or stopping any type of contraceptive pill without informing your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
