What Are The Options Of Treatment In A Case Of Papillary Carcinoma?

Hi doctor, I have a question for my mother who have a high papillary carcinoma..she is 64 yrs ...she consult the doctor and the doctor said if she undergo a surgery there s a lot of complication bec she also taking a medecine for high blood and cholesterol. I wanna ask what is the best thing to do, and if she don t go undergo surgery do you have some medecine or any advice for her to do.. Pls help me thank you...looking forward to your answer.

You havent mentioned the site of the tumor. I am assuming its in the thyroid gland. If that is the case, then the only treatment for papillary carcinoma of the thyroid gland is surgical removal of the entire thyroid gland. This should not be a problem even with the associated conditions that she has. At a tertiary care centre like the one where I work, its a routinely done surgery and rarely associated with complications. There is no other curative treatment for this condition.
