Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My boyfriend wants to have oral sex at my anal opening. I'm a nurse and have told him I don't think I can let him do that because of the bacteria that resides there. He says I've been overtaught in nursing school and it's nothing to worry about. Not for me, but I'm concerned for him. I won't be reciprocating the event on him for sure. I've read about it online and there are many opposing answers. Please help me understand what's the best advice about this so I can relay it to him. Thanks. Exit only in my book.
Hello and welcome to HCM. As an Urologist,i can understand your concern. Your concern is very real. The anus holds the faeces. Hence, the area is contaminated with bacterial organisms. This can also transmit HPV viral infections and STD's. Discourage him with these facts. Even anal sex with a condom isn't safe. The anus is narrow and can be torn during sex, leading to tears. If you've any doubts, you may send a direct question to me. Dr.Matthew J. Mangat.
