What Are The Early Signs And Symptoms Of Stroke?

My fiance sometimes gets woke up in the night because his leg(s) or arm(s) fall asleep and start to tingle. They also do this occassionally while we re just setting. His Father passed away from a stroke a few years ago around the age of 50. My fiance is 25. Could there be a connection or perhaps some other explanation?

I read your question and I understand your concern.

A stroke at the age of 25 is not that likely so you shouldn't be alarmed unless he has some other condition predisposing him for stroke.
However those episodes especially if always on the same side should be investigated. That description is compatible with a partial seizure for which tests like EEG to check for epileptiform electrical brain activity and brain MRI for possible brain lesions are recommended.
Further management steps depend on the findings of those tests.

I hope to have been of help.
