What Are The Diagnosis And Treatment Of Ureaplasma?

Hello. I would like to ask what are your thoughts about ureaplasma? I got my pap results today and everything is fine except my doctor said I have ureaplasma. She didn t explain anything, just said that I have an infection and I have to be treated with my partner. And gave me a prescription. I read online just now about this infection and some doctors are saying that this bacteria is present in all ppl and there is no need to treat it. Thank you.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Culture of genital secretions or swab or urine will be helpful to rule out this. If it is pathogenic and causing symptoms then should be treated. Otherwise it may cause problems like infertility or frequent urinary tract infections. Taking antibiotics like Azithromycin is very effective for this. It is better for you and your partner take it at same time.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
