What Are The Complications Of Nerve Damage In Lower Spine?

I was in a car accident13 months ago and have compression nerve damage in my lower spine causing numbness in my right big toe recently, when going for walks the numbness has spread to the bottom of my foot by the big toe also it looks like there is no blood in the area as the skin yellowish white instead of pink is this from the nerve damage should I see my doctor or back to physio?
