What Are The Causes Of Gaining Weight Of A Person Having IBS?
hello, my name is Galina, i have IBS, i keep pretty much healthy diet, exercise ,but recently i noticed that I gained weight pretty rapidly. I am really terrified as I tried to lose weight and it is really hard for me I am 53 and 5'3, I weighted 125 lb in the summer, and now, 6 months later i gained almost 12 pounds. What is the reason if I don't change my diet and eat only healthy food. I am not a big eater either.

You need to discuss any medications that you may be taking (including steroids) for IBS. Also given your age, you fall in the post menopausal group and your female hormones may not be in balance. You also need to check your thyroid function tests.
