What Are The Causes And Consequences Of Thrombocytopenia?
Hi,I have platelets count of 52 and WBC of 4.9 and RBC of 4.66 and everything else is normal. It is very concerning me why are the platelets low, is there a big disease or problem. They did not take b12, iron and d levels tested. Please advise, I m very scared. Thanks
Hi Low platelet count can be caused by a number of reasons like ; *Liver disease *Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (a disease autoimmune in nature, where platelets are reduced in a normal and otherwise healthy individual) *Certain connective tissue diseases like SLE *Drug-induced e.g. heparin-induced *Certain conditions related to pregnancy There are several other causes too. If you have any symptom like increased bleeding tendency ? Then show to a medical specialist. Thank you
