What are some of the heart conditions requiring stent replacements?

Hi, my name is Victoria. Can you pls tell me heart conditions requiring stent replacement? thanks Patient is on Amiodarone , Metoprolol and Coumadin. Had a stent placement but his primary doctor did not provide the indication for the Coumadin therapy either. My email address is YYYY@YYYY . Thanks for your help

Dear patient,

Thanks for your health concerns. Stents are usually indicated in the coronary arteries if there are chronic obstructions that limit flow (at least 70% of the size of the vessel) or an acute obstruction of the artery. Sometimes, if there is an obstruction between 50 and 70%, medications can be given during a procedure to see if the obstruction becomes significant. Most of the time, chronic blockages less than 50% do not require stenting and opening if the patient has no symptoms.
