What Are Extreme Thirst And Urge For Frequent Uriantion Suggestive Of?
Hi. I just talked to my brother on the phone. He is 57. He said he has been feeling extremely thirsty lately, experiencing strong urges to urinate, and urinating copiously and frequently. Diabetese runs in our family--but he s pretty careful about not eating sugar, or starchy foods. Could it be anything else? Sharron

It may be diabetes mellitus as you have a family history for diabetes plus frequent urination can be a symptom of it. It can be due to excessive intake of water too but still I would suggest you to screen for diabetes by having blood sugar fasting and HbA1C tests.
