What Are Mazetol And Nurokind Used For?

Hi, Iam Jyothsna. My son is 14 years old and he feels dizzyness in the morning and when he plays more. We started observing this from past one month. Local doctors did some checkups and confirmed that everything is fine. But doctor suggested to use Mazetol 200 medicine and Nurokind,Medocal Syrups for atleast 6 months. What is that medicine for? And Is it fine to take that medicine? Will there be any side effects with that?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Does you son have any neurological issue? If yes, then he needs to take Mazetol. It is usually given for epilepsy and trigeminal neuralgia etc. Otherwise no. Nurokind and Meocal are vitamin supplements and can be taken. Side effects are very rare. However , please discuss it with his treating physician as he would know better since he has examined your son personally and done the investigations and reviewed it. If he is suffering from only dizziness get his BP checked. Blood sugars, hemoglobin , vitamin D, Vitamin B12 levels, serum electrolytes and thyroid function tests should also be done. Also a few very important things to note: you said your son is 14 right. Is he sleeping well? Eating balanced food? Drinking 10-12 glasses of water a day? Is he under stress because of the pressure of studies? Is he getting enough sleep?
Any imbalance in any of the above could cause dizziness or weakness.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
