Hi,

Usually ovaries release ova during every cycle of menstruation on 14 the day. In PCOD is disease itself in which abnormal production of androgens lead to hypertrichosis and weight gain, menstrual irregularities, etc. it is called PCOS.

You have to get it done serum LH a day FSH, blood sugar levels, cholesterol levels, weight check up. If you have symptoms like menstrual irregularities, over weight, hypertrichosis or insulin resistance please consult your gynecologist she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu, Internal Medicine Specialist
