Took Abortion Pill, Spotted Very Little, Mild Cramping. Does This Mean Medication Didn't Work?

Hi my last menstrual period was sept. 14,2013 I just took the 2nd medication of the abortion pill (misoprostol) yesterday oct 25, 2013 at 6pm. I followed exact directions given to me by my doctor & I only spotted very very little. Only tiny drops of blood would come out when I peed & only pink stains in the tissue.the cramping was extremely mild. Today I haven't bled or cramped at all. Does that mean the medication didn't work?

Hello
Thanks for your query.
Normally, within 24 - 48 hours of taking the pill, you would have bleeding with cramping and expulsion of a fleshy mass of tissue.
Tiny drops of blood are not enough.
Wait for another 48 hours ( meanwhile do take the remainder of the pills as would have been prescribed to you ).
By then, you should have had bleeding with cramping to a substantial extent.
A follow up visit after 15 days is a must, to ensure that the abortion was complete.
ANd yes, do stay in touch with your gynecologist all throughout.
I hope a scan was done before taking the medication to rule out ectopic pregnancy.
Take care.
