Throat Stickiness, Problems In Breathing. Change Of Medicine From Claritin To Predisone And Amoxicillin. Advice?
I woke up with a throat stickiness and was having trouble breathing. It is like a lot of post nasal drip that is clogging my throat. I was given Claritin and predisone at first. My heart started racing so I got off the predisone after the second day. I was also given amoxicillin but I don't seem to have an infection. I'm taking Claritin, Flonase and Musinex D. I have been taken it for almost 2 days. Don't feel all that much better. Am I taking the correct stuff or should I be doing something else. Thanks
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. In my opinion you have got some allergy. In my patients I have seen that due to allergy usually there is post nasal discharge , which not dangerous , but patient feels uneasiness all the time. Antibiotics are not useful in such type of situation. Only antihistmine + bronchodilators will help. You can also gargles with antiseptic solution or hot saline water. Avoid dust , mite, molds , fine powder, spray, fumes. Good luck. Dr. HET
