Tested Positive For Morphine In Drug Screen Test. Can Taking Excedrine Show Positive Result?

Yes have a step son who is taking drug screen tests to get his infant child back. He said he tested positive for morphine but didn't take anything but, he was taking excedrine for his headaches. Can this be a cause or what could he have ate or taking that would show this up?

hi
thanks for using healthcare magic

Various medications with false-positive reports includes brompheniramine, bupropion, chlorpromazine, clomipramine, dextromethorphan, diphenhydramine, doxylamine, ibuprofen, naproxen, promethazine, quetiapine, quinolones, ranitidine, sertraline, thioridazine, trazodone, venlafaxine, verapamil, nonprescription nasal inhaler, amphetamine or methamphetamine etc. Excedrine can cause false glucose test. May be he has taken any of above drug. For that ask him in detail.

Thanks
