Taking Miralax. Done Da Vince Robotic TAH. Swollen Stomach. When Will It Reduce?
I am three days post Davinci robotic TAH and the rest removed - I am eating health and drinking lots of water and walking as I can but no bowel movement yet - today I started taking miralax but how much food can go in before it needs to come out and when will the extreme swelling of my belly (from the gas they used for surgery) go down some?

As Far as Miralax is concerned it may take 2 to 4 days after you have started this medication to have a bowel movement. Do not increase your dose or take it more frequently than prescribed. Also, do not use this medication for more than 2 weeks unless directed by a doctor.Extended use or overuse may result in dependence on laxatives and chronic constipation. Overuse may cause diarrhea,dehydration, and mineral imbalance.You can have a normal or a light diet and try to take the drug before going to sleep at night if possible.
The robotic neck surgery approach is usually done with carbon dioxide (CO2) gas insufflation (introduction of gas into the surgical area). You may experience pain due to retained gas in the tissues surrounding the lungs (a condition known as pneumomediastinum) or subcutaneous air with crepitations. The pain and discomfort can remain until the gas is eventually absorbed.
Generally constipation often occurs after robotic surgeries or it could be a side effect of the drugs prescribed . It is nothing to worry about , any way as you said you are drinking good amount of water and taking food , I think there should be an improvement soon.
If any of the above problems you stated persist I recommend you to consult a general physician nearby for further guidance.
