Taking Diamicron, VoliboseM And Sitagliptin. Having Pain In Back And Thigh. What Next?

hi sir, my husband is 50 yrs old weighing 85 kg and nearly 6 feet tall having DM for the past 6 yrs, on various drugs, now ha has been on Tab.Diamicron XP - B.i.d, Tab.VoliboseM 0.2, B.i.d, Tab. Sitagliptin in the aftenoon for the past 5 months, His FBS is 160 t0 175 and his last HbA1C was 7%. Now he is having pain in the back of the hip and thigh. what is the next step i should do/

Hello,

Your husband is a Type II Diabetic and on OHA's.
His blood sugar is not under control.
His HbA1c is shows poor control.
Uncontrolled diabetes may produce many microvascular and macrovascular complications.
Going for insulin may be a good idea at this stage.
The pain your husband experiencing may be very well due to hyperglycemia and inflammation.
Insulin helps in controlling sugars as well as inflammation.
