Taking Atenolol And HCTZ For Stability Of BP. Doctor Needed?
I take Atenolol and HCTZ daily for perfect stability for High BP. How can I find a physician to treat me who actually cares about my health above making money? At Physicians Care, they only care about money, they can't even call me in a prescript for Atenolol when they treat me for it thrice a year. Oh no, you've got to come in. But I can be there next week, just please help me get by until then. Oh no, don't let my busy schedule prolong a few days enough to get my physician to call me a script long enough to get me by until I have 3 or 4 hours to sit at their office. They obviously do not care about their patients. I try to plan ahead, but this time I didn't and I believe it could have actually shortened my life. My BP was 220/178 !!! I need a real Dr. who really cares. I should have been more prepared, but I thought I had another refill left, turned out I didn't, and they shortened my life by weeks only because they cannot make money by calling in scripts, even if I just needed enough for a week or two! I need a real doctor!!!

Sorry about your unfortunate experience. Finding a good, compassionate doctor may be at times difficult. A strategy that I suggest to patients is to look for physicians who have received a membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Chapter of their state (particularly if obtained not as a student but as a graduate physician in practice) since this Medical Society of Honor inducts only the most professional, caring and compassionate doctors, who strive for humanism.
