Swollen Tight Hand, Reddish Bumps On The Neck And Stomach. Have Itching. What Is It?
my daughter woke up from a nap and was complaining that her hand felt tight and it was a little swollen...a little bit later i noticed that she had a few red bumps on her neck and 3 three bumps on her stomach. Last night I gave her som Benadryl and put some anti-itch lotion on the spots and on her hand. She said that it helped, but this morning when she woke up she said her hand felt tight again and it has red blotches on the inside and it was itching her....what can this be??
Hi, as you described the lesions in your daughter, it seems that she is suffering from lichen urticatus also known as papular urticaria. It is hypersensitivity to certain insects, most commonly bed bug. Give her steroid in tappering dose for 2 to 3 weeks, levocetirizine syrup 5 ml twice a day till itching is relieved. Apply soothing lotion like calamin with alovera lotion. Avoid soap bath. And lastly keep the bed insect free... Still, consult good dermatologist for perfect diagnosis and treatment..
