Swollen Ankles, Gums And Rapid Heart Beat After Taking Dilatiazem. Is There Any Alternate Medication ?

I am taking diltiazem 120mg extended twice daily and have swollen ankles , gums and sometimes rapid hearh ittbeat.
I am taking lisinopril 20mg/12.5 with it.
blood pressure is down from170/110 to 145/89
I have taken over 24 blood pressure meds. This one brings down blood pressure but has adverse effects.
What is in diltiazem that would be in some other b.p. pill that would not cause problems above. I will go to a dr. next week and want to know how to help this new dr. prescribe medicine for me for b.p.

Hello,

Swollen gums can be the result of elevated blood pressure levels.

I would advice you to get a thorough clinical evaluation done.

Plenty of fluids as well as fruits has to be administered.

Get a thorough scaling done.

Regarding medication for high BP,please do visit a physician.

Take care.
