Swelling In Carbuncle, Looks Darker, Lump Seen, Eye Pours Out. Will I Remain Like This?

Hello, my right caruncle has been swollen for as long as I can remember. It is slightly darker than the left and protruds slightly from my eye. It almost looks like a dark pink lump has been stuck on to a normal caruncle. It occasionally gets a little sensitive and my right eye tends to often get pus/gooey build up. My eye also waters quite frequently.

I use eye-drops for dry eyes but it has never shrank.

It has been like this forever but I would like to know what it could be?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi Friend I am Dr Bilal and I am an Ophthalmologist
Welcome to Health Care Magic and thanks for writing to us .
I would like to answer your question and your satisfaction is my goal .

As per history given by you , it seems as if you are suffering from STYE (Hordeolum) . Its basically the infection of one of the tiny oil producing glands inside the eyelid usually caused by staphylococcus aureus bacteria . It could be external hordeolum , or it could be internal hordeolum . I would recommend you to visit your eye doctor as you may require antibiotics . Meanwhile apply hot compresses for 10-15 minutes at a time for four times per day , as it will help to open the pores of the oil glands to allow proper drainage . Also take over the counter available pain killer tablet like Ibuprofen in case you experience pain.
I hope that you will find my answer helpful .
Wish you a very speedy recovery .
Best regards .
