Suggest Ways To Manage Addiction To Masturbation

I m a 21 y/o female, I first started masturbating when I was 15 by only rubbing my clit till it kinda starts to hurt then I stop, it became a habit before going to bed every night then one day I felt like I broke something -not literally- I don t know how to explain what I felt but I know something wrong happened because ever since that day I can t get wet! I literally do not get wet nor cum. I lost my virginity about 2 years ago and been sexually active since then, sex is kinda hurts to me because I m basically dry all the time, and yes I started using lupe but that s not the point I wanna be able to produce my own lupe like any normal 21 y/o girl. I think I lost my sexual desire like I tried watching porn to get me wet or at least horny but nothing happened. I don t get horny like I used to -used to before that day- clearly there s something wrong with me and I ve been afraid to confess that for 6 years now. I can t see a gyno in my country and even if I could I would be so embarrassed to tell this story. Please help

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Masturbation is a healthy and normal physiological activity, but needs to be performed properly with adequate spacing. If done too frequently, it can harm your physical and mental health. You can overcome its addiction by getting engaged in some other forms of physical activity such as playing sports or by getting involved in to certain types of hobbies like learning music or painting, so that it would help you to take control over the mind.

Also practicing relaxation techniques such as regular meditation would help to keep your mind under good control and free from unnecessary stress. Start living with a healthy lifestyle and with good habits. Gradually you should be able to overcome your problem.

Hope the information provided would be helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
