Suggest Treatment Options For Degenerative Arthritis In Elderly Woman
I am experiencing pain, numbness, and tingling down my entire left side. I recently had an EMG of the left side and it was normal. I then had an MRI and was just informed that my degenerative arthritis has increased, I have a bulging disc and have stenosis all in the cervical area. What are my options for treatment? I am 61 years old.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Bulging disc and stenosis in the cervical spine along with pain, numbness and tingling down the entire left side is suggestive of cervical spondylosis. Cervical spondylosis is a degenerative condition and since there is bulging disc in the cervical spine, management is aimed to replace the bulging disc. Rest will help to replace the cervical disc back in place. In addition, physiotherapy is necessary to relieve the pain, numbness and tingling. Pain killers are required to relieve pain. I suggest you to consult your orthopedician for clinical assessment and thus management.
