Suggest Treatment Fro Severe Pain In The Waist

I have severe pain right above my waist in my back. I noticed for the past few months having to go to the bathroom 5 or 6 times a night. That has stopped, but I now have extreme swelling in my ankles. Is this seriously? I am in pain especially when I move. HELP!

your situation depends on your age. as mentioned you have severe pain. is it severe enough to hamper your daily life? if yes go right away to do a MRI Spine which will reveal the clear cause.Ifnot, first try stretching exercises and physiotherapy to relieve stress in muscles . about swelling in ankles it might be unrelated to your back pain or can be a cauda equine syndrome. You need to be evaluated for organic causes first like heart, lungs , kidney and sonogram of lower limbs for ankle swelling . Hope this helps.
