Suggest Treatment For White Marks On Hand

hello doctor ,.m 20 years old ,.and my prob is that i am having white marks on my hand ,.for the past 4-5 weeks ,.i have been prescribed to have a syrup named LYCORED ,. but that doesn t seem to have any effect ,.the marks are like white marks on the upper side on my right hand ,.they dont pain ,.neither i have any kind of itching,.so please help me out ,. thanks in advance ,. regards abhishek

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Those white patches could be either vitiligo or it could be post inflammatory hypopigmentation. In either case I would suggest you to use tacrolimus ointment , twice daily. In addition I suggest you to use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g. fluticasone propionate 0.05% or mometasone furoate 0.1% cream for night application. These are prescription drugs and I advice you to kindly talk to your local practitioner regarding this.
