Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Dryness After Stopping Estrace Vaginal Cream
I recently stopped using my estrace vaginal cream. I was inserting 1 mg. once a week. I stopped due to increase in cost. What effects will stopping have, besides obvious vaginal dryness and atrophy? I feel as though my moods have changed and have some facial skin breakouts and weight gain. Is there an alternative to the estrace cream?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Estrace vaginal cream is a prescription medicine used to treat moderate to severe dryness, itching, and burning in and around the vagina due to menopause. The symptoms what you are experiencing is due to low estrogen levels after menopause. You need to continue its use as prescribed as there is no other alternate available. However, you might try generic brands containing 'estradiol', which might cost you less. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
