hi i am sayed Muslim and i am from Afghanistan i have very problem in my colones i am going to toilet for stool 6 or 7 time in a day in 2010 i have colons copy and some trace of ulcerative colties have seen so they have given me Asacole i have take this madicien about 6 month then for a period of time i was good but around 2 month i am facing same problem
dear sayedji, if your diagnosis of ulcerative colitis is a proven one, then unfortunately it is such a disease which can be kept under control with medicines and not be cured fully. so you have to take medicines continuously as prescribed by your colorectal surgeon or gastroenterologist. Its the same like patients having Diabetes or Hypertension (high blood pressure) where the patient has to take medicines throughout to keep the disease in control. So I advice all my patients not to shy away from medicines and consider it as one part of their daily routine life. whenever the severity of the symptoms increase, you may have to increase the dose of asacol and if required add some more medicines as directed. Try and avoid foods which have GLUTEN. you can google it. take care wish you good health
