Suggest Treatment For Type 2 Diabetes

My mom is 65 and a type 2 diabetic. She woke up feeling a little light headed and took a blood sugar reading at 7:30 am and was very low at 65. She then ate, took her metformin 1000mg pill and tested again at 9:45 and was spiked at 415. She then tested again at 10:45 am and was still high at 385. What should she do?

Detailed answer: Hope she is taking Metformin extended release,which doesn't affect (reduce)blood sugar much And also needs strict diet control..She might need an immediate release(regular metformin) formulation or combination treatment wigli two class of drugs like metformin and gliclazide or even addition of insulin to the plan.I would advise to discuss this with her treating doctor and get the appropriate prescription based on the reassessment findings.Hope I have answered your query.If any queries,happy to assist you.Take care.
