Suggest Treatment For Tooth Pain After An Injury

Hi I recently fell and banged my head on concrete slab which resulted in me having a big massive cut in my lip. I went to A&E and I noticed that my front left tooth was painful when I bite and was sensitive to cold drinks. I also noticed that when I touched it it hurt and was tiny bit loose. I went to the dentist who informed me to take an x-Ray. He informed me that I suffered dental trauma on my tooth and nothing was fructured and that it should heal after a couple of weeks. He also prescribed me 600mgs of ibrufen which I ve been taking for over a week and my tooth still hurts and I can t bite threw my front teeth and my left teeth hurts. I wanted to find out if my tooth is going to heal on it s own or I should seek other alternative advice and I m desperate to get this sorted it s the most uncomfortable pain I m trying to be on a soft food diet which kinda sucks

Hi..
Can understand your concern...

As per your complain it seems that due to trauma the portion below the root tips of tooth and the nerves present in the tooth has got inflamed leading to pain and difficulty in biting.

It is possible that it is acute inflammation and gets subsided in next 4 to 5 days..

But in case the pain does not gets better then you need to get a root canal treatment done as a chronic inflammation cannot be reversed and needs to be treated to provide relief.

You can also take tablet Ketorol DT, one tablet dissolved in half a glass of water to get relieved of pain.
You can also get your x ray evaluation done again as there may be something missed in the first x ray like some root fracture or crown fracture or abscess formation below the root tip of tooth.

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
