My daughter is 22 years old and has has had a very bad attack of tonsillitis which was treated. Now she has a fast heart beat rate and is constantly tired. Can the tonsillitis be the cause and should we be worried. She has been for heart tests but her heart valves etc. are all normal. Nobody seem to know what has brought this on. Looking forward to your reply.
hi...haemolytic streptococci is the most commonly infecting organism in tonsillitis. this organism also effects kidney and heart. you should get an ASO titre blood test done and if its high start with penicillin treatment. don't worry it can be just secondary to a viral infection where patient experiences post viral weakness.
