Hi I m a 30year old female and I am a social smoker. This week I have developed a feeling of something stuck in the left side of me throat. My two girls do have horrendous colds and I have been coughing and had a headache. My tonsils don t appear swollen.

hellooo...read thru ur query...i feel that its just due to some infection(bacterial mostly)of the tonsils..but dont worry..u can do warm saltwater gargle as many times as possible..do regular toothbrushing and do tongue scraping (tongue contains a heavy load of microbes which causes inflammation of tonsils).do clorhexidine mouthwash...drink lots and lots of warm water..avoid having cold food stuffs and cold water..have hot food...take amoxicillin abtibiotics for 3 days...avoid smoking for a week or so...after a week if still persists meet an ent surgeon and get the treatment done based on clinical situation...be cool and calm..hope ur benefitted something with this reply..have a healthy day!!!
