Hi,

As per your complain swelling under the jaw can be swollen lymph nodes also known as Lymphadenopathy and it is commonly due to infections in the oro-pharyngeal [head and neck] regions. It can be due to any prevailing or recurring infections on facial structures like ear, throat, nose, teeth, salivary glands, teeth and gums or at times infections of distant body parts may cause secondary infection and swelling in distant lymph nodes.

Wisdom tooth eruption or infection of the gum flap over wisdom tooth. You should consult a General Physician or an ENT and get evaluated and after thorough examination and investigations the correct diagnosis and treatment can be done.

In case of infections and inflammation antibiotics like Augmentin or Amoxicillin and anti-inflammatory medicines like steroids can be taken. In case if there is some doubt still left biopsy of lymph nodes can be done.

Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks and regards,
