Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My index finger and the tip of two other fingers have been swelling for about two or three weeks. They don t feel painful or itchy at all and there is no peeling skin or bruises. I went to see a doctor a few days ago and have soaked my hand in hot water (hottest I can bear without causing skin burn). I was told they should turn blue and that should relieve the swelling, but after soaking for a few times there hasn t been any difference so far. Just wondering what might be the cause of the swelling and what should I do? Thanks, Lydia
There could be multiple causes including carpal tunnel syndrome (which makes you feel that you have swelling) or venous congestion. I suggest you visit the Orthopedic Surgeon for detailed examination and treatment.
