For two days I have swelling below my ear and jaw area. Now the swelling is in the middle of my cheek , still below my ear and is causiing my ear canal to swell. The slight tingling from the swelling extends to my eye and mouth on that side. The area is very tender and warm to the touch, but not red. the area below, on my neck is tender , no lumps are felt here. What might I be dealing with?
As per your complain swelling below the ear that is extending till the cheek and jaw and also causing tingling till eye and swelling in ear canal.. Well, it can be related to 2 most common reasons: 1. It can be due to inflamed gum flap over the wisdom tooth leading to Pericoronitis.. 2. Secondly it can also be due to infection and swelling in the parotid gland.. But chances of wisdom tooth related swelling are more..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and x ray will be sufficient for diagnosis..
As of now you should take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen to relieve pain and swelling.. Do cool compresses over the swelling.. Start doing warm saline gargles and also antiseptic mouthwash gargles.. Take soft food..
Hope this helps.. Regards..
