Suggest Treatment For Strep Infection In The Labia Majora

Hi, I had staph and strep in my labia (how s that for an opening line at a bar?) in April. It was operated on to drain it, followed by 4 days in the hospital f/u with VNA. The infection kinda cleared, kinda slept through follow up with surgeon. I also have uncontrolled diabetes, mostly because I don t eat, not hungry. I have very large kidney stones that we have been working on for 5 years, everytime we work on them, kicks up old infection.yada, yada, yada. The current issue, I have had inadequate (ok no). Dental care in my adult life. I currently have a couple of abscessed teeth that have done their deal, and drain. It appears to me that the staph and strep are active in my mouth. I went to my GP yesterday, he gave me Clindamyacin 300mg take 2TID. in addition my urologist gave me Macrobid 9 days ago. I have gone septic 3 times in the last 5 years. Tell me to go to the ER PLEASE.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The best way to know is to take a blood test with a culture from the teeth and urine; The presence of bacteria in blood gives other signs like high fewer.

Ask to your doctor an antibiogram which specifies the type of bacteria with the appropriate antibiotics that the bacteria is sensible.

If you have an urine infection from a different bacteria we have to chose only one antibiotics or a combination that both of the bacteria are sensible.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
