Suggest Treatment For Stones In The Gallbladder

Hello Sir, I was having severe pain in my abdomen. I had gone for lever profile Test and also sonography of full abdomen. In that 2 things were disclosed. 1 was that i am having 10mm stone in my gallbladder and 2nd was my Liver GGTp ratio was 473 which should be below 61. Then my doctoe has advised me to take Udiliv 300 for 15 days (twice in a day). Then again i gone for liver test. In 2nd Test my GGTP was came down to 153. Again my doctor advise me to Udiliv 300 for 15 days. After that i have not gone for liver Test because may be it have came to normal and i wanted to get tested in my normal condition i.e. without any continuity of medicine and without any boiled food. After 1 month with normal food and no udiliv medicine , i had gone thorugh test and gain my GGTP increased upto 296. Now my question is : 1 - What is the reason of increasing GGTP again ? 2 - Is Udiliv 300 is best medicine for this ?. 3 - Is this Udiliv having side effects ?. 4 - What i should do for GGTP to be normal ? THANKS FOR YOUR IMPORTANT TIME.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The elevation of GGT (Gamma glutaryl transpeptidase) enzyme Level indicates various possible disorders as:
@ Liver disease with fibrosis, scarring
@ Gall bladder conditions (stone or other inflammatory conditions)
@ Pancreas
@ Kidney diseases

It is important to co relate the GGT findings with other liver function test for better guidelines. The side effects of Udiliv (Urso deoxycholic acid) are:
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Cough and sore throat
- Muscle ache
- Others

The GGT level remains under control, once the basic condition or pathology is controlled or cured.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
