Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Sinus Drainage Behind The Throat

My throat hurts on a scale from 1-10..... 10 being the worst... i would have to say a 7.... I have drainage going on in the back of my throat, i cant talk, and i dont know what to do... This has been going on now for over a year and doctors are saying they cant find anything wrong with me..... What do i do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query sore throat and sinus drainage behind the throat which is due to upper respiratory tract infection as post nasal drip is clear indication of infection. I would suggest you to take Anti-inflammatory medications such as Tylenol or Motrin may help reduce any infection. Gargle warm saline rinses as well as do betadine gargles. Visit ENT specialist once and get some routine blood investigation done. Go for proper examination and then start treatment accordingly. avoid cold carbonated beverages. In case of tonsillitis doctor may recommend tonsillitis. You should take steam inhalation along with vaporizers. Avoid extreme spicy and salty food. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Take combination of antihistamine and oral antibiotic such as Bactoclav for 3 days.
