Suggest Treatment For Sleep Apnea

My 32 year old son is having sleep problems. Trouble breathing when he goes to bed. Wakes up about every 15-30 minutes. Thinks he has sleep apnea. Ordered a device online hasn t received it yet. Lives in CA. Is there any temporary relief for him until he sees a Dr.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Sleep apnea would need to be diagnosed by a sleep specialist and it is normally treated by : (1) weight loss of any excess weight.
Weight plays a role in sleep apnea and weight loss may help to improve symptoms.
This can be done via diet and activity.

(2) decrease smoking if this is a problem

(3)reduce alcohol use

(4)avoiding any sleep aids

(5)CPAP machine may also be needed

Other than the lifestyle changes there are no meds or other treatment at home.
He first needs to be properly diagnosed.

I hope this helps
