Suggest Treatment For Sinus Headaches And Loss Of Hearing

Hi. My daughter is 13 and has complaints about not being able to pop her ears for a number of days now. she has related headaches as well. I thought maybe sinus headache, so I got an over the counter decongestant. She does not complain of hearing loss necessarily, but it has been irritating. No ear pain.

Hi,

The symptoms can be related to sinus infection or sinusitis, however, there can be blocked Eustachian tube leading to blocked feeling in ears and inability to pop.

So, first of all, you should get her checked by an Emergency doctor or Otorhinolaryngologist to check her ears as well as sinuses. A sinus X-ray and Otoscopy of ears can be done for confirmation.

For now, decongestants can help, however, if there are infection antibiotics can be advised and along with it steam inhalation and manual drainage can be done if medicine does not resolve the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
