Suggest Treatment For Severe Vomiting Caused By Stress
My daughter is under a tremendous amount of stress. Sher just left her husband and moved back home from another state to be near family. She just lost her grandmother and just learned her 16 year old daughter is pregnant. She gets a strong urge to throw up when faced with stress. How can I talk to her about needing to see a doctor. She has no money for a doctor visit and I am willing to help her.
If she does not want to see a doctor, you can offer her to see a counselor which will help her deal with her fears and uncertainties in the right way. On the other hand, medications might still be needed in moderate to severe cases and in this case, she will need to come to this decision herself but at least with the help from the phsychotherapy, she might be more open to taking pills as well.
Meanwhile keeping her busy and active, doing activities she may enjoy and avoiding coffee, smoking, and alcohol might be helpful as well.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
