Suggest Treatment For Severe Pelvic Pain In An Elderly Person Post Hysterectomy

Hello. I am a 50 year old female and last night I experienced severe pelvic pain such as you would with a UTI for several hours. When I urinated I noticed blood on the toilet paper and a small amount of blood in the toilet. This continued for about four hours each time I urinated , approximately 12 times, it was extremely painful and each time there was more blood. When I woke up this morning the pain and bleeding have stopped however I felt very fatigued and light headed today. I had a complete hysterectomy 27 years ago.

Hi,

Blood in urine needs further evaluation. If I were your treating doctor, I would like to know following details - the reason for the hysterectomy, history of trauma, any similar episode in the past, blood only in urine or in stools as well. I also would like to do the ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis, urine routine and microscopy, complete blood count. Based on the findings of these I would like to take things further.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jatin Bhatia, Radiation Oncologist
