Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a very arthritic knee. I just recently received gel shots. About 3 weeks ago I fell and hit my shin bone really hard and then two days later I fell pretty hard on my knee. I receved a big black and blue bruise on my shin, with swelling on the side of my shin and pain in the back of my knee. Since then I have had a lot of pain down my shin, on the side of my shin and on the back of my knee. It feels like a pulling in the back of my knee. Even my ankle hurts. I feel like I damaged something because the pain is more in my leg thsn my knee. Could I have pulled a muscle or a tendon? Sometimes I can hardly walk by the end if the day. It feels the best in the morning.
Most probably it will be a part of arthritis. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.
In that case, you might require an MRI scan for further assessment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
